Dawit's visit to Austin was such a blessing to us! His visit here made the Hope in Ethiopia partnership touchable and within reach for those who have never visited Zeway.
I was struck by a quote that God revealed to me Easter week:
"The joyful news that He is risen does not change the contemporary world. Still before us lie work, discipline, sacrifice. But the FACT of Easter gives us the spiritual power to do the work, accept the discipline, and make the sacrifice." ~Henry Knox Sherrill
I believe it is so fitting for this partnership.
Today, Tom Sanchez along with his brother, will be traveling to Zeway to offer training on grief and loss counseling. Tom's brother, Steve, is a grief and loss counselor and will be training the social workers Monday-Friday of next week. Pray that the Spirit removes any cultural misunderstandings and that the social workers can apply the information to the children. Pray for strength for Steve as he does 5 days of training. Pray for Tom that he is an encouragement to his brother, Dawit, the social workers, and the church leaders in Zeway. Pray for God to move mightily during their visit!
God has also given us a very special opportunity to sell our Hope Jewelry at a large women's conference this weekend in Austin. This is an awesome opportunity to raise awareness to this partnership and God willing, will allow us to send additional funds to help support the orphans.
God is moving and our sails are raised! What an awesome God we serve.
